I Left My {Heart} In San Francisco #1

Well, here we go. . . Are y'all ready for this? I'm ready to dive into the first of many SF posts. I have no idea how many it will take so I'm going to get busy reminiscing, editing, & uploading pictures.  *I will warn you now, there will be a lot of details that you probably won't care about & pictures that are less than superb.  I don't have a fancy-schmancy camera & the pics may not be the best of us; especially of that little 2 year old that refuses to smile 99.9% of the time.  But this is "us" & this blog is how we document all of life's memories.  I will write first & do photos second.  I think that will help me keep everything in time order & be the least complicated.  Hold on & let the journey begin!

Tuesday (7.5.11)
After a quick stop at Wal-Mart on our way out of town, we flew from O'Hare to SF arriving about 4:30 p.m.  The West Coast is 2 hours behind us so we gained 2 hours on the flight which we loved, of course.  That meant plenty of time to get to our hotel & find our Dinner destination!
Reddington did OK on the flight.  He was restless the first couple of hours.  I didn't have room to dig through bags & get out all of the fun, new toys, colors, books, etc that I bought him.  So, we just managed, looked out the window, chatted, etc.  He was antsy to be out of the booster seat (which we found out later is not to be used on the plane- they'd rather children just sit in the seat w/ the belt like an adult, weird!) & wanted to roam freely - - no such luck! He then said, "Mama, hold me!" So I seized the opportunity, stuck in the paci, & he slept in my arms with his blanket until we landed. Perfect! That paci is heaven sent, I tell ya.  It's his bff & since he doesn't get it at home, it was like the greatest reunion EVER during our trip.  I had it on hand to make sure he was not bothered during the flight with the change in pressure & would sleep pleasantly in the hotel- both were wonderful due to the reunion with the paci. Holla!
Upon arrival, baggage claim, & locating a taxi, we were off to our hotel.  It was everything we thought it would be: fountains, chandeliers, high dollar decor, & fluffy beds that were great for jumping! :)  We did some checking & made our way to the shopping/dining area downtown called "Union Square."  We enjoyed our first of two meals at the Cheesecake Factory.  It was the best experience we've ever had at a CF.  Our hotel's conciere was quick to call ahead for us, so upon our arrival, we by-passed probably 50 people waiting on a table & were seated immediately on a roof top deck- to die for! We ate, enjoyed the area, & walked the hills back to our hotel.  Hence, the reason for our 3-day cable car pass that we purchased immediately upon our return to the hotel!

Up Next = Day 2 "What's Gelato?" & "In & Out Meet & Greet"
