40 Pictures for 40 Years...

of marital bliss! ...Ok, maybe not 40 pictures but quite a few!
On June 5th, 2011our lovely parents celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary! My parents are so special to us, of course.  We wanted to make it a special event that they would remember for years to come.  Instead of "going to dinner" we wanted to do MORE than that.  However, we were given firm orders, "NO PARTY."  So what's a couple of daughters to do? We decided to hire a Chef! The Chef was Chris Shafer & he is the Head Chef at the Main Hangar Restaurant.  Tatum & I met with him, decided on a Menu, & invited him to her home on June 4th.  Along with his assistant, he prepared the food & drinks, served it, & cleaned up everything.  It was a complete surprise to our parents & we invited a few of their friends & treated them, too.  There was a total of 14 of us.  It was amazing- we all loved being pampered for the evening!

My mom has talked for years about visiting London. She has quite a few co-workers that live there because of the Tate & Lyle office over there. She talks to them on the phone regularly about work-related stuff & has dreamt of visiting The Queen for years. In lieu of gifts, we asked everyone to make a small contribution to their "Lovers in London" fund. You will see we did just a few decorations, including the Piggy Bank for London. It was adorable. We purchased it at Giggles which is a store in Downtown Decatur.
