...Except it smells like mushrooms and everyone looks like they want to hurt me."
-Buddy, The Elf
After decorating the same way for 8 years, I decided to switch it up this year & I'm so glad that I did! In the past I did 3 trees & focused on specific colors that I liked that were definitely non traditional. See one of the past years here.
Since the kids are coming home with cutest ornaments & decor these days, I wanted to be able to showcase their work. We also have a lot of sentimental ornaments from places we've visited or been given as gifts. In the past, I would put these types of things in a box & pack them away. NOT THIS YEAR! It was time for my trees to accurately reflecting our family! I went from red/pink/lime/turquoise/purple to the traditional red & green along with lime. I also went from a set of 3 "Charlie Brown" style trees to 1 traditional tree set in an antique wash tub.
You know you're officially a "grown up" when you... Add a 120 foot paper chain & change your decor to incorporate your children & your everyday lives! I spy...John Deere tractor, Oreo cookie, "Angel" Reddington, "Hollywood Baby" Snowman w/ sunglasses & tutu, a mouse, & so much more!
And... I think this is my FAVORITE!

After completing my decorating I made a visit to Prairie Gardens & decided I just had to have this Lollypop-themed tree topper. I love it & feel like it really tops off the tree nicely!
