Welcome Miss Lela Grace Durbin...

Ben & Keri are extremely dear to our hearts.  We met them in our Foster Parenting classes.  Since it was a small class, we made a point to get to know them since they were the closest to us -in age- in the class.  We learned all about them & their story of multiple miscarriages (including a set of triplets), infertility, IVF, & a lot of heartache.  They were solely pursuing their Foster Parenting Certification to adopt.  They finalized the adoption of their first daughter recently and had an "Adoption Party" at Scovill Zoo to celebrate.  We loved joining them for this event. Since receiving Lela as their foster daughter over a year ago, they have had another boy & girl placed with them straight from the hospital AND ARE PREGNANT WITH A MIRACLE BABY GIRL DUE IN JANUARY! Yes, God is so faithful.  This baby was conceived without any infertility and it is Keri's first-ever successful pregnancy.  Incredible, I tell ya!  So, since we have known them, their family has expanded from 2 to 6 with all 4 of the children age 3 & under (including in the womb).  What a blessing! {This party was held the same day as we visited the hog farm.  It was a busy day, to say the least!}
Did you know November is National Adoption Month?

(Lela did not want to hold still for anything! I HAD to have at least one photo of the guest of honor!)

If you have read my blog for any length of time, you have probably gathered that adoption is becoming very near to my heart.  I love this quote from Author David Platt, "Orphans are easier to ignore before you know their names.  They are easier to ignore before you see their faces.  It's easier to pretend they're not real before you hold them in your arms.  But once you do, everything changes."
Oh, how I pray I have the opportunity to hold an orphan in my arms in Ethiopia next summer! :)
